Lea Anderson, Director
Mrs. Anderson has served as a CUB Holding Company Director and Board Director since 1993 and as First Farmers Bank Director in Owenton, KY for since 2002. Born and raised in Shelby County, Mrs. Anderson was formerly a teacher in the Shelby County School system and has been active in church and the community. She is also a homemaker and farmer.
Steve Barker, Director/Holding Company Board Chairman
Mr. Barker joined CUB in 2002 and is a native of Shelby County. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Presbyterian Homes and Service of Kentucky and has over 20 years of management experience in the healthcare and long-term care industry.
Bill Borders, Director
Mr. Borders is a retired Pharmacist and past owner of Smith McKenney Pharmacy in Shelbyville. He has been on CUB’s Board since 1991. Bill is a lifetime resident of Shelby County and has worked with many civic organizations over the years.
Pat Hargadon, Director
Mr Hargadon joined Citizens Union in 2005. He has been an Agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau since 1986. He also serves as a Director of the Shelby County Industrial Foundation, Shelby Energy Coop, and the US 60 Water District. He is a past Chair of the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Lincoln Heritage Boy Scouts Council. He is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky and the Philip Morris Agricultural Leadership Program. Pat is active in his Church and is a past Parish Council President.
Dr. Edward B. Hayes, Director
Dr. Hayes became a Director of the Bank in 1970 and served as Chairman for 17 years. He is a lifelong resident of shelbyville and his grandfather was one of the founders of Citizens Bank, now CUB. Dr. Hayes practiced in Shelbyville as a dentist for 41 years and also has a farm in Bagdad, KY.
Steve Higdon, Director
Mr. Higdon is a graduate of the University of KY. Steve is Vice President of Marketing for QSR Automations, a Louisville-based software development and technology leader in the restaurant industry. Steve was former President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc, the metro chamber of commerce and former VP of Global Communications for Papa John’s International, Inc. He has also served on several community Boards including the Louisville Sports Commission where he was Chairman, the Louisville Zoo, and previously served on CUB’s Advisory Board for the Louisville Market.
Bob McDowell, Director
Mr. McDowell is a retired farmer, and has been on CUB’s board since 2000. He was born and raised in Shelby Co. Bob attended University of Kentucky and has served on the Shelby Co. Board of Education and as Treasurer of West Shelby Water District.
Steve Solomon, Director and Bank Board Chairman
As an owner of a local manufacturing plant for over 30 years, where he oversaw marketing, financial and production facets, Mr. Solomon joined the CUB Board in 1996. Civically minded and actively involved in the region, Steve has served on many local boards and steering committees.
Gary Stewart, Director
Mr. Stewart is a graduate of the University of KY. He is a CPA and a retired Partner with Crowe Horwath LLP and Eskew and Gresham PSC. During his public accounting career Gary specialized in working with financial institutions providing services ranging from audits to strategic planning. Mr. Stewart served as Interim CFO for the Kentucky State Fair Board along with other numerous Boards including Norton Healthcare Inc., the Louisville Zoo and Hosparus, Inc.
E. Ryburn Weakley, Director
Mr. Weakley is a graduate of the University of KY, where he was honored with the Sullivan Medallion Award. He is the retired Manager of Feed Mill and Grain Erectors, and is presently a farm manager and active in numerous local civic organizations and church groups.
David Bowling, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Bowling, a CPA, joined CUB in 2006 and has worked in the public accounting and banking industry since 1984, specializing in strategic planning and risk management consulting. David was named President of the Bank in 2008 and as CEO in 2013. He currently serves on several community Boards including Metro United Way, Kentucky Council on Economic Education and The Louisville Sports Commission.
Darryl Traylor, President
Mr. Traylor has worked in the banking industry since 1983. He currently serves as President of Citizens Union Bank and as Chairman and CEO of First Farmers Bank located in Owenton, KY. Darryl is a graduate of Morehead State University with a BA in Finance and serves as a Board member of the New Horizons Medical Foundation, a member of the Owenton Rotary Club, and is Chairman of the Owenton Rotary Student Loan Fund.
George Borders, Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending
Mr. Borders joined CUB in 1994. A lifelong resident of Shelby County, George is a graduate of University of Kentucky and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. George serves on the board of the Parkinson’s Support Center of Kentuckiana and is a past board member of Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, the Shelby County Community Foundation and the Shelbyville Country Club.
Kimberly Davis, Senior Vice President/Marketing
Ms. Davis joined CUB in 2001 and has worked in the banking industry since 1975. She currently oversees the Banks marketing and product development. Kim was named as the Community Banker’s of Kentucky’s Young Banker of the Year in1993 and received the Kentucky Banker’s Association’s Young Banker Leadership Award in 1996. She has served on many local Boards in Bullitt County, where she was born and raised.
Christopher Dew, Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dew joined CUB in December of 2006. Chris is a graduate of Grave County High School and Murray State University; and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Kim Dodson, Senior Vice President/Treasury Service
Ms. Dodson joined CUB in January 2012. Kim has 20 plus years of experience in Treasury Management Sales and Operations and has been involved in the startup and development of three Treasury Management Departments at various banks. Kim attended the University of Louisville and holds her Certified Treasury Professionals Accreditation.
Nicole Durbin, Executive Vice President/Risk Management
Prior to joining the bank in 2008, Nicole worked in public accounting providing risk management consulting services to financial institutes for over 9 years. Nicole is responsible for the bank’s risk management processes and plays an important role in many of the bank’s strategic initiatives.
Rhonda Huddleston, Senior Vice President/General Counsel
Ms. Huddleston joined CUB in June, 2011. She has over 30 years banking and legal experience. Her background as a former state regulator, bank director, bank president, outside counsel, master commissioner and county clerk combine to provide a strong base from which to assist the bank. She manages all of the bank’s litigation as well as provides legal support for the various departments of the bank.
Jim Long, Senior Vice President/Special Assets
Mr. Long joined Citizens Union Bank in 2007 as President of the Central Kentucky Market. In 2009 he also became the Chairman of the Special Assets Committee. He began his banking career in 1977 in Louisville before moving to Elizabethtown in 1989. Jim serves as Chairman of the Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau and is a member of the Hardin County United Way steering committee and Hardin County AM Rotary.
Brian McMullan, Executive Vice President/Chief Information Officer
Mr. McMullan has been with the bank since 2000. Prior to joining Citizens Union, Brian was with a financial services firm in several locations in the US and Europe. Brian is a graduate of University of Kentucky, serves on the Board of Dupont State Bank in Indiana, the finance committee of Cornerstone Christian Academy and is a past Board member of Cornerstone Christian Academy.
Claudio Monzon, Senior Vice President/Consumer Lending
With over 30 years of banking experience, Mr. Monzon is the Market Executive of the Bank’s Central Kentucky Region based in Elizabethtown, KY. He is a past Board member of the Hardin County Community Foundation and Central Kentucky United Way, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, Lincoln Trail Venture Group and is a Member of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club.
Belinda Nichols, Senior Vice President / Business Development
Belinda Nichols brings over 30 + years of banking experience to CUB. She is serving as a Sr. Vice-President managing strategic customer relationships, new customer relationships and representing the bank with her current involvement in our community. Currently she serves on the Shelby County Adversary Board for Metro United Way, Shelby Development Board and Foundation, Shelbyville Historic Commission and is on the finance team at Shelby Christian Church. She is married to Les Nichols and they have one daughter, Lynsey.
Debbie Prewitt, Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending
A community banker in the Louisville market for over 25 years, Ms. Prewitt joined the CUB Commercial Lending Group in 2008. Debbie is a graduate of both Leadership Louisville and Bingham Fellows. She is involved with many nonprofit organizations including serving on the Executive Committees of Elderserve, Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Mary Hurst and The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.
Donna Rupard, Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer
Ms. Rupard joined Citizens Union Bank in 1995 and has worked in the community banking industry since 1973. She currently oversees operations and is the Director of Human Resources for the Bank.
Tammy Thomas, Senior Vice President/Affordable Housing
Joining CUB in 2008, Ms. Thomas has worked in the affordable housing industry for 25 years in both state and federal government service. She currently serves on The Housing Partnership Board of Directors. Tammy oversees all affordable housing lending for CUB, with most of the portfolio being in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.
Scarlett Upchurch, Senior Vice President/Compliance
Ms. Upchurch joined CUB in June 2014 as our Chief Compliance Officer. Her background includes providing audit, risk management consulting, and compliance services for financial institutions. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. Scarlett received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Chris Waford, Senior Vice President/Mortgage Lending
Mr. Waford joined CUB in 2005 and has worked in the banking industry since 1993. Chris currently manages the Bank’s mortgage operations, which has been recognized as one of the best in the region.
Ben Wathen, Senior Vice President/Retail Banking
Joining CUB in 2012, Mr. Wathen has nearly 25 years of experience in the banking industry, including over 10 years at the executive level. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University as well as the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a past member of the WKU National Alumni Board and has served in various capacities with a host of civic groups.
Brian Webb, Senior Vice President / Commercial Lending
Mr. Webb has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry and brought this experience to CUB in June of 2008. Brian now serves as the Shelby Market Executive as well as the head of Commercial Real Estate Lending for the bank. Brian is the past Chairman/Board Member of Metro United Way Campaign in Shelby County and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.
Bill Williams, Senior Vice President/Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Williams joined CUB in 2008 and has worked in the Commercial Banking industry for 12 years. Mr. Williams earned his B.S. from Georgetown College and his MBA from the University of Louisville. Mr. Williams is responsible for providing support, direction, and credit information to the lending team as well as performing portfolio analysis to ensure the overall quality of the Bank’s lending portfolio.
