Lea Anderson, Director
Mrs. Anderson has served as a CUB Holding Company Director and Board Director since 1993. She has served as a First Farmers Bank Director in Owenton, KY since 2002. Mrs. Anderson was born and raised in Shelby County, and was formerly a teacher in the Shelby County School system. She is active in church and the community and is also a homemaker and farmer. Mrs. Anderson volunteers providing service in many areas throughout the community including Father’s Love Ministry.
Steve Barker, Director/Holding Company Board Chairman
Mr. Barker joined CUB in 2002 and is a native of Shelby County. He is a CPA and has over 25 years of financial management experience in the healthcare and long-term care industries. Mr. Barker is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Xavier University.
Bill Borders, Director
Mr. Borders is a retired Pharmacist and past owner of Smith McKenney Pharmacy in Shelbyville. He has been on CUB’s Board since 1991. Bill is a lifetime resident of Shelby County and has worked with many civic organizations over the years.
Pat Hargadon, Director
Mr. Hargadon joined Citizens Union in 2005. He has been an Agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau since 1986. He also serves as a Director of the Shelby County Industrial Foundation, Shelby Energy Coop, and the US 60 Water District. He is a past Chair of the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Lincoln Heritage Boy Scouts Council. He is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky and the Philip Morris Agricultural Leadership Program. Pat is active in his Church and is a past Parish Council President.
Dr. Edward B. Hayes, Director
Dr. Hayes became a Director of the Bank in 1970 and served as Chairman for 17 years. He is a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and his grandfather was one of the founders of Citizens Bank, now CUB. Dr. Hayes practiced in Shelbyville as a dentist for 41 years and also has a farm in Bagdad, KY.
Steve Higdon, Director
Steve serves as the Chief Development Officer for Private Client Services, a dually registered Broker Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor. He is responsible for corporate business development, brand strategy and marketing. Steve was former President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc, the metro chamber of commerce and former VP of Global Communications for Papa John’s International, Inc. He has also served on several community Boards including the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Louisville Sports Commission where he was Chairman, the Louisville Zoo, and is a director for M.E.D., a privately held Lexington-based medical device company. Steve graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Ray Leathers, Director
Ray is an 18 year veteran and decorated officer of the US Army, being awarded the Army Achievement Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, and the Army Meritorious Service Medal. He served as President/CEO of Roll Forming Corporation in Shelbyville until his retirement in 2017. He was awarded the 2010 Manufacturing Employee of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Manufacturing and in 2012 he was presented the Shelby County Distinguished Citizen Award by the Boy Scouts of America. He has held Chairman and Executive Board positions with the Shelby County Industrial Association, Shelby County Industrial Development Foundation, Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, The Dorman Preschool Center, and the Serenity Center. Ray graduated from Eastern Kentucky University on a ROTC scholarship and later earned a Master’s from the University of Southern California.
Bob McDowell, Director
Mr. McDowell is a retired farmer, and has been on CUB’s board since 2000. He was born and raised in Shelby Co. Bob attended University of Kentucky and has served on the Shelby Co. Board of Education and as Treasurer of West Shelby Water District. He is current Chairman of the Simpsonville Park Foundation and past Chairman of the Simpsonville Rural Fire District and past Trustee and Deacon of Simpsonville Baptist Church.
Steve Solomon, Director and Bank Board Chairman
Mr. Solomon was an owner of a local manufacturing plant for over 30 years, where he oversaw marketing, financial and production facets. He joined CUB’s board in 1996. Civically minded and actively involved in the region, Steve has served on many local boards and steering committees.
Gary Stewart, Director
Mr. Stewart is a graduate of the University of KY. He is a CPA and a retired Partner with Crowe Horwath LLP and Eskew and Gresham PSC. During his public accounting career Gary specialized in working with financial institutions providing services ranging from audits to strategic planning. Mr. Stewart served as Interim CFO for the Kentucky State Fair Board along with other numerous Boards including Norton Healthcare Inc., the Louisville Zoo and Hosparus, Inc.
David Bowling, Chief Executive Officer
David is a CPA and joined the Bank in 2006. He has worked in banking and accounting for over 30 years, specializing in strategic planning and risk management. David was named President of the Bank in 2008 and as CEO in 2013. He currently serves on several community boards including Metro United Way, Kentucky Bankers Association and Capital Access Corp.
Darryl Traylor, President
Darryl has worked in the banking industry since 1983. He currently serves as President of Citizens Union Bank. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of First Farmers Bank located in Owenton, KY. Darryl is a graduate of Morehead State University with a BA in Finance. He is Chairman of the Trustees of Owenton First Baptist Church.
George Borders, Senior Vice President/Commercial Credit Officer
George joined the bank in 1994 and is a lifelong resident of Shelby County. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. George serves on the board of the Parkinson’s Support Center of Kentuckiana and is a past board member of Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, the Shelby County Community Foundation and the Shelbyville Country Club.
Erin Bukowski, Senior Vice President/Internal Audit Manager/Information Security Officer
Erin joined the bank in 2014 and oversees internal audit, information security and project management. Her prior work experience ranges from public accounting, corporate accounting, and internal audit; with over half of her 18 year career being spent in the banking industry. She is a graduate of Xavier University and The University of Kentucky. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.
Kimberly Davis, Senior Vice President/Marketing
Kim joined CUB in 2001. She has worked in the banking industry since 1975 and currently oversees the bank’s Marketing department. Kim was named as the Community Bankers of Kentucky’s Young Banker of the Year in 1993 and received the Kentucky Banker’s Association’s Young Banker Leadership Award in 1996. She has served on a variety of local boards in Bullitt County, where she was born and raised.
Christopher Dew, Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Chris joined CUB in December of 2006 and oversees the bank’s finance department. He is a graduate of Murray State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He and his family reside in Shelby County.
Kim Dodson, Senior Vice President/Treasury Services
Kim joined CUB in January 2012. She has 20 plus years of experience in Treasury Management sales and operations and has been involved in the startup and development of three Treasury Management Departments at various banks. She attended the University of Louisville and holds her Certified Treasury Professionals Accreditation. She is an active participant of the Gala Committee at Cedar Lake Lodge and was Co-Chair at the 2014 Women 4 Women Annual Luncheon.
Nicole Durbin, Executive Vice President/Risk Management
Prior to joining the bank in 2008, Nicole worked in public accounting providing risk management consulting services to financial institutes for over 9 years. Nicole is responsible for the bank’s risk management processes and plays an important role in many of the bank’s strategic initiatives.
Debbie Hamilton, Senior Vice President/Controller
Debbie began her career in banking in 1979. She is a graduate of Thomas More College and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison Wisconsin. She is a lifelong resident of Gallatin County and is currently working in the finance department.
Chris Jackson, Senior Vice President/SBA Lender
Chris joined the bank in 2017. He has worked exclusively in the SBA lending arena for over 17 years, and will oversee all SBA lending for the Bank.
David Lyons, Senior Vice President/Market President/Senior Lender
David began his career in the banking industry in 1989. He is a native of Henry County and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Owen County Industrial Authority and previously served on the boards of the Owen County Extension Service, New Horizons Medical Center and Owen County Chamber of Commerce.
Brian McMullan, Executive Vice President/Chief Information Officer
Brian has been with the bank since 2000, prior to which he was with a financial services firm in several locations in the US and Europe. Brian oversees the bank’s Technology department and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, serves on the bank’s board and is current President of Leadership Shelby. He also serves on the Shelbyville Fountain Committee, and is a past board member of Cornerstone Christian Academy.
Claudio Monzon, Senior Vice President/Business Development
Claudio joined the bank in 2011. He has over 35 years of banking experience and oversees Commercial Lending in the bank’s Elizabethtown office. Claudio is a past board member of the Hardin County Community Foundation and the Central Kentucky United Way and currently serves as Chairman of the board for Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, is Treasurer for the Lincoln Trail Venture Group, and a member of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club and Hardin County Chamber of Commerce.
Belinda Nichols, Senior Vice President / Business Development
Belinda joined the bank in 2014 with 30 plus years of banking experience. She currently manages the bank’s strategic customer relationships and oversees Public Relations in Shelby County. Belinda serves as Vice-Chairman on the Shelby County Chamber Board, and as a member of the Shelby County Advisory Board for United Way and the Shelby County Community Foundation Board. She is a member of Shelby Christian Church.
Debbie Prewitt, Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending
Jefferson/Oldham/Bullitt Market President
A community banker in the Louisville market for over 25 years, Debbie joined the bank’s Commercial Lending group in 2008. She is a graduate of both Leadership Louisville and Bingham Fellows and is involved with many nonprofit organizations including serving on the Executive Committee of Elderserve, Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Mary Hurst and The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, and as a board member of the Kentucky Derby Festival.
Donna Rupard, Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer
Donna joined the bank in 1995. She has worked in the community banking industry since 1973 and is a lifelong resident of Shelby County. Donna currently oversees the bank’s Operations department and is Director of Human Resources.
Jennifer Somerville, Senior Vice President/Loan Operations
Jennifer joined the bank in 2016 and she has worked in banking since 1995. She is a graduate of Ball State University, with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, and has 19 years of experience in loan servicing management.
Dallas Stafford, Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending
Dallas has worked in the banking industry since 1978. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B.S. in Agriculture and Business Administration, a U.S. Marine Veteran, past president of the Owen County Chamber of Commerce and an active member of Owenton First Baptist Church.
Tammy Thomas, Senior Vice President/Affordable Housing Tammy joined the bank in 2008. She has worked in the affordable housing industry for 30 plus years in both state and federal government service. Tammy oversees the Affordable Housing department, which includes the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program. She currently serves as a Director on The Housing Partnerships board.
Scarlett Upchurch, Senior Vice President/Compliance
Scarlett joined the bank in 2014 and is Chief Compliance Officer. Her background includes providing audit, risk management consulting, and compliance services for financial institutions. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. Scarlett received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Chris Waford, Senior Vice President/Mortgage Lending
Chris joined the bank in 2005, has worked in the banking industry since 1993 and is a lifelong resident of Shelby County. He currently manages the bank’s Mortgage Operations department, which has been recognized as one of the best in the region.
Ben Wathen, Senior Vice President/Retail Banking
Ben joined the bank in 2012 and oversees Retail Banking. This includes all Banking Centers, the Customer Care Center and the CUB Investment Services Group. He has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry and is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is a member of the Shelbyville Rotary Club, a past member of the WKU National Alumni board, and has served in various capacities with a host of civic groups. Ben spends his free time playing golf, supporting the WKU Hilltoppers and he is an avid Louisville City FC fan.
Brian Webb, Senior Vice President / Commercial Lending
Brian has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry and joined the bank in 2008. He oversees the bank’s Commercial Lending department for the Shelby County market. Brian is the past Chairman and a board member of Metro United Way in Shelby County, Past President of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and still currently serves as a board member.
Bill Williams, Senior Vice President/Chief Credit Officer
Bill joined the bank in 2008 and has worked in the Commercial Banking industry for 12 plus years. He earned his B.S. from Georgetown College and his MBA from the University of Louisville. Bill is responsible for providing support, direction, and credit information to the lending team as well as performing portfolio analysis to ensure the overall quality of the bank’s loan portfolio.
